Mrs. Brand
Mrs. Brand is originally from the Huntsville/Madison area. After working for many years in the defense industry, she decided to go back to school so that she could become a school library media specialist. She received an MLIS degree from The University of Alabama in 2009 and, in 2013, was named an Emerging Leader by the American Library Association. This project truly wouldn't have been successful without her assistance and hard work. Her assistance was an integral component to seeing these student projects come to life - she helped us with every step along the way, from reserving the media materials for us to teaching the students (and us) how to use complex computer editing programs. She helped LMS secure the materials for our "Maker Space," which is an innovative resource room in our library that contains 3D printers, green screens, and Mac desktop computers with every editing program you could imagine. She is a big advocate for collaborative teaching and learning and loves opportunities like this to work with multiple teachers and students together. In addition to being the library media specialist, she also coached the basketball cheerleaders for two years.
